Astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus was born in Toruń in 1473. The museum is in a house which belonged to the Copernicus family in the 15th century, and where Nicolaus Copernicus was probably born. It is a merchant's "tenement" house, used for housing and for storage. The architecture dates back to the 15th century, and its interior is a fine example of a Gothic house refurbished throughout the centuries. The exhibition is partly about the house and life at the time, partly about astronomy, and partly about Copernicus. Explanations are in Polish, English and German.
