Kesik Minare

✓ CHECKEDStriking ancient church ruin with a truncated minaret, unique history.

This was first built as a Roman temple in the 2nd century AD, and in later centuries went back and forth between religions. The minaret was added in the early 13th during one such conversion, and in 1800 this was the only part to survive a fire. The mosque lay in ruins until rebuilt from 2018, re-opening in 2021.
